I have MOVED!

 I’ve had this blog for almost 3 years and it’s time to start anew.

As much as I would like to update my blog every so often, unfortunately my current schedule at work and in the business does not allow much down time.

I will not post my new blog URL here (only my close friends will know that) for security purposes.

My new journal will be more about the jewelry business, the ups and downs of starting a registered business, the events and launches I attended, etc.

Thank you to all my friends and blog friends who have read my blog entries for the past 3-4 years.

The Global Pinoy Bazaar is joining the rest of the Green Community in encouraging environmental-friendly habits. Shoppers will be encouraged to bring their own bayongs or shopping bags, therefore we strongly request the participants to wrap if necessary their merchandise in paper or put together items in paper bag, or tender their product AS IS since it is assumed that all merchandise are the most current and in excellent condition.

A special Sinamay counter will be available at the exhibit area should there be shoppers who needs special packaging services.

A Serious Backache

My backside hurts.

It could be from lugging a huge bag around, or it could be from typing using a laptop, slumped on a bean bag.

Or it could be from stress. Our maseuss cum reflexologist said, when one is stressed, its usually the back or the feet that get the beating. I don't mind having painful feet (actually I do mind, but its the lesser evil), but having a sore backside is far worse.   

Even lying down on my firm, posture mattress at home hurts. Not to mention trying to stretch in the morning. Ow!

I'm currently reading "Fashion Babylon", a book Isa left for me in case I get bored at MLNW. Well I have always been looking for this money management book with the word "Babylon" in the title (I couldn't find this book and I've been searching  for it for so long that I totally forgot the title already), but this would just have to do.

It's quite entertaining actually. It's like Devil Meets Prada but more real—–and sinister. Haha!

It's like getting all the backstage hush-hush info on anything and  everything in the fashion world. Totally funny and intriguing.

Oh and in other news..I will be changing—or rather—WE will be changing our cell numbers soon. Just so we can get away from all the hoopla and start a new life—-just kidding!

The Magic of Jabee

 I had a hell day. First the tarp that was supposedly for Pasteleria was messed up (partly because of the RGB vs CMYK printing). I tried out a new large format printing company near our house and they messed up the color (brown turned into green) because they use RGB—I checked the freakin' colors on the PC before printout and the colors were fine. But hell, I paid Php 250 for a tarp I couldn't use. Well…I got my Php 250 worth. I'm stickin' with Signex or GA.

They even asked me, "Mam san po ba kayo nagpapa-print?" And I said, "Sa Signex Makati." To which they aptly replied, "Eh, malaki po kasi yung gamit nila na machine e, kami maliit lang. And RGB kami." I'm surprised a company uses RGB and not CMYK–isn't CMYK the standard? To think that they have all the Motorola and F&H collats splattered on their walls. Lekat pala sila. 

And then, I decided to try out Kodak instead of Digiprint (where I normally print out my tags and business cards—-my mistake) to print my 8×10 ad for my acrylic frame which will be placed on my booth. And Kodak said, "Mam we don't have paper na e. Come back na lang later," to which I respectfully obliged. And when I got the pics 2 hours later, it wasn't even printed properly—the images and text were pixelized and weren't even centered on the paper. Ano ba! Php 360 in one day down the drain. I was so irate!!!

I called Mark and then let out my frustrations (because it was HE who suggested that wretched printing place). Anyway, after about 2 hours, he texted and said, "Baby, malamig na ba ulo mo?" And I said, "NO! I am still f*cked up."

But then after a while he called and said that he was bringing US dinner (we were busy preparing for the bazaar that I have been cutting stickers and wrapping boxes for hours…

Ah…the magic of Jabee. It was so nice to see Mark. I am almost calm now. But I still have some errands to do tomorrow. Let's see…

I am in love with Timmy's kitTenD…but I'm sorry I couldn't afford it. Haha!

Happy Birthday Felice!

 With full conviction, we trooped to McDonald's Q. Ave only to be advised afterwards that the party was to be held at West Ave. Silly me, I deleted the email so I wasn't able to double check on the address.

Happy 1st Boitday Felice! click on the picture and you will realize that Felice is the carbon copy of her doting mom, Chie. Since it was only me (from ContactPoint) who attended the party (stir kayong lahat—kris, kat, mel & larry), it made me miss my ContactPoint friends even more and our Recruitment escapades back in 2003…or was it 2004? (see now I can't remember).

Anyway, I wonder how we can all get back together even for just 1 night and catch up on each other's lives. Sad ano? It's been 2 years since I last saw them, except Chie of course, who constantly invites me to her parties.

And for the record, it was my first time to join a party game (thank god I only had to join 1!) and it was the dreaded balloon game where you put a ballon between your legs, hop like a dazed kangaroo around the chair, make the MCDO sign on your head and do the twist 3 times. Eeeww…. I hate parlor games…but anything for Chichay

I lined up along with the other "grownups" and I volunteered to be first in line–haha! Because I didn't want to be at the end be the one to pop the balloon on the chair. I hate that part. Anyway, the boys won over us girls (yep) and I got a Power Rangers notebook as consolation. Not bad. I gave the notebook to Clark who was sitting shyly at our table.
